As a Sr. Managing Director, Stephen is responsible for working with our clients to understand their needs and priorities as companies are prepared for market. He serves as a confidential advisor to review current tactics and results, as well as provide business optimization strategy pursuant to the client’s goals. He solicits and qualifies prospective buyers, negotiates offers, manages due diligence activities and other meetings while protecting client interests through the successful sale of the business.
Stephen has a comprehensive background of over 25 years in Strategic Planning, Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Licensing, Digital Marketing, Business Development, Sales and Entrepreneurship. He has held key roles, interacting with C-level Executives and Boards of Directors in many Business Development and Due Diligence activities in the Financial Services, Retail and Medical Device Industries.
His career started in Finance working on a joint team with Accenture Consulting to restructure a company in bankruptcy, creating a viable go forward business. He led the strategic planning process for a diversified $2 Billion company with eight subsidiaries and all analysis for merger and acquisition activity. He led the restructuring for the investment banking division of Thomson Reuters in NYC. Working for Stryker and other medical device and biologics companies, he led teams launching over $150 million in new product sales and successfully turned around two struggling companies to return them to positive revenue growth.
Steve has represented both the buyer and seller in multiple transactions and understands the perspectives of each side. He has also consulted and advised several start-up companies, refining their business model, developing strategic and marketing plans and attracting investment capital.
He holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Arizona State University and a Masters of International Management from Thunderbird Graduate School. He has been married over twenty-five years with three children, coached multiple baseball teams, is an avid skier, and an Assistant Scoutmaster in the BSA having successfully raised two Eagle Scouts.
