Susan began her association with eMerge M&A in 1997 and serves a dual role in both M&A Analytics and Deal Management to benefit business owner clients. In the Analytics role, Susan executes the Company Analysis function to gather the data eMerge M&A needs to understand  the company and position it to attract the right buyer.

Susan is a lawyer, strategic business advisor, and M&A Analyst who advises business owners to help them run, grow and subsequently sell their companies. After several years as a litigator in a law firm that specialized in servicing closely held businesses, Susan jumped to the business side to counsel founders, CEOs and executives across various industries. She works closely with business owner clients to provide sound solutions to the unique organizational and financial challenges they face.

Throughout her professional career,  she has analyzed over 1,000 privately held companies leading to the development of  Confidential Business Reviews and  business plans, many of which have gone on to receive funding or enter the M&A process. She has coached numerous clients on growth opportunities and business model analysis and innovation.

She knows what creates value in a private company and how to communicate that future value to the market using eMerge’s analytics models to streamline the M&A process.  As her business owner clients consider their “next chapter,” Susan has originated and executed finance and M&A transactions across a variety of industries, successfully guiding them through the exit process.

In addition to her extensive advisory experience, Susan has served as adjunct professor of Entrepreneurship and New Venture Development, Small Business Management, Management Consulting and Business Law at several prestigious institutions at the graduate, MBA and executive MBA levels.  She has conducted executive level workshops on a variety of business management topics including business model innovation, business strategy and planning, entrepreneurial leadership, marketing and communications, and operations execution.
